Calgary Transit From The Official Source

This page pulls directly from Calgary Transit's GTFS Realtime feed — the same feed that powers Google Maps, Transit App, and the City's own Trip Planner. Every minute, we refresh vehicle positions across the entire network: buses on every route, CTrain trains on the Red and Blue Lines, plus any active service alerts. Where most transit apps hand you a next-departure list for one stop, this dashboard shows the whole city at once — useful when you're trying to see whether the delays you heard about are isolated or system-wide.

Below you'll find live snapshot stats, a city-wide map of every vehicle in service, and the current active alerts. Route on-time performance rolls up daily from the same feed once we've collected enough data — it'll populate here as soon as the first day's rollup completes.

Every Vehicle, Right Now

Bus positions only. Calgary Transit publishes live positions for the bus fleet but not for the Red or Blue Line CTrains. CTrain trip updates and service alerts still flow through the schedule feed — they'll appear in the alerts section below when active. Positions refresh every minute, matching Calgary Transit's own feed cadence.

Active Service Alerts

Alert data is sourced from Calgary Transit via the City of Calgary's GTFS Realtime feed. Service alerts are provided as-is and reflect the operator's own advisory categorisation.

About Calgary Transit Data on This Page

How the data works. Every minute we pull the full snapshot of Calgary Transit's GTFS Realtime vehicle positions and trip updates. That's roughly 1,500 buses and trains reporting their exact location, direction, current stop, and any schedule deviation. A route is flagged as having "delays" when the average absolute schedule deviation across its recent trip updates exceeds two minutes — which is Calgary Transit's own on-time threshold.

Alerts. Service alerts pull every five minutes and include the cause (mechanical issue, weather, incident, construction) and effect (delay, detour, no service). Each alert lists the routes and stops it affects, so you can quickly see whether the disruption reaches your commute.

What's not here yet. Route-level on-time performance rolls up nightly from the same feed. Until the first day's rollup completes, the "On-Time (Yesterday)" stat will show a dash. Route-specific pages, per-stop next-arrival lookup, and long-run reliability charts land in later phases.
